History
Two Bath stone statues in bastion-type corners of the enclosed S garden at Llantarnam Abbey, rebuilt 1834-6 by T.H. Wyatt for R.J. Blewitt. The statues of a medieval pilgrim and a soldier in C17 costume with gun have been suggested as possibly C17 but may date from the earlier C19. There were other statues possibly smaller and also said to be C17, including a dancing man, a boy with a drum, two knights, an owl, a stork and a head and bust of a man with a staff.

Exterior
Two statues, slightly less than life size, Bath stone, on conglomerate rough rock pedestals, one of a medieval pilgrim with tunic, hood and staff to SE and other of a soldier in C17 armour with sash, plumed helmet and gun, to SW.

Interior

Reason for designation
Included as part of the garden setting of Llantarnam Abbey.
