Causeway and Private Bridge on the Approach to Glascoed
Location
Over a small ravine on the approach to Glascoed.
History
Possibly C17, if contemporary with the house. It is indicated on the Tithe Map of 1841.
Exterior
A causway and a small bridge of segmental form spanning a small tributary stream of the Cynllaith. The bridge is built between tall vertical stone faces, its arch set at a level about 2 m above the stream. Two massive stone buttresses each side.
Reason for designation
A fine approach causeway with bridge to an important house, listed also for group value with the house.
