History
Former service range of Gwynfryn, No 16, a large house of c1900 by George Morgan & Son of Carmarthen, the largest house of the Penllwyn Park development. Penllwyn Park was developed by the Carmarthen Land Co from 1893, with George Morgan as architect. Two villas were built in 1893-4, Radnor House, No 12, for C.W. Jones JP in 1896, and plans for 5 houses for J. Richards and 5 for Messrs Brown, Thomas & John, builders, all by Morgan are in the National Library.  

Exterior
House, former service wing, rock-faced coursed Pennant stone with yellow brick dressings and some red tile-hanging. Slate roofs with red terracotta ridges and finials. Two storeys with big red-brick N end stack Gable to left has bargeboards over tripartite cambered headed window each floor, in yellow brick surrounds. Upper window is taller with small-paned top-lights, lower window is of 3 10-pane narrow sashes. To right is projecting porch bay with tile-hung first floor, half-timbered small gable, bargeboards and finial. First floor cross-window and ground floor arched entry with arched hoodmould. Door set back. To right is 2-light window each floor, ashlar-framed small sashes. N end lean-to with broad hipped roof and small gablet at apex. Four-light casement window under eaves, to ground floor W.

Included for group value with No 16, of which it forms an integral part, and as part of an important late C19 residential development.
