Location
One of the associated structures in the gardens of St Fagans Castle and part of the Museum of Welsh Life.
History
Placed in the Dutch Garden in about 1850 as a part of the improvements undertaken at that time by the Windsor family. It is not known if it is a real Italian fountain or a contemporary copy. It is shown in position on the c1855 Estate Plan.
Exterior
Italianate marble fountain with a scalloped pool edged with roll-moulded marble set on a sandstone plinth. In the centre, on a square plinth, is a fountain of four cherubs supporting a single vertical jet.
Reason for designation
Included as an important garden feature and one of the structures associated with the gardens and estate of St. Fagans Castle.
