Stepped in slope on the bend in the road; the terrace steps up at both No 9 and No 11 and again at No 13 to right.
History
Built ca 1860 by William Thomas as housing for the foundry workers;
Exterior
2-storey, 1-window red brick cottages set in reflected pairs. Slate roofs, boarded eaves and central blue brick stack to each pair. Voussoirs to cambered openings; horned 6 and 12 pane sash windows and 4-panel doors with plain overlights. Modern windows at rear overlooking high revetment wall to former foundry complex.
All have front gardens and contemporary simple iron railings arched at the top; additional small plots of garden to right of Nos 10 and 12.
Reason for designation
Included as an especially well preserved example of industrial housing.
Group value with the remainder of Foundry Terrace and the original foundry building.
