Location
In the street leading north-east out of the town square in the centre of Monmouth.
History
Early C19 front with an altered late C19 shopfront. The building is known to have older fabric behind, probably early C17. Church Street had some widening as part of the improvements associated with Priory Street and White Swan Court in c1837, but according to the maps the south side of the street had been set back in part previous to this. Kissack records visible timber framing in No. 19.
Exterior
Rendered and painted front, probably over brick, roof not visible from the street. Three storeys, two windows. Double depth plan. The ground floor has a single shopfront with recessed to right, plain stall-riser and fascia, single pane window. Six over 6 pane sashes above, all with stone cills and keyed and voussoired heads. Modillion cornice. Rear elevation not seen.

Interior not available at resurvey, apart from the shop premises.
Reason for designation
Included for its special architectural interest as a multi-period building and as part of the continuous run of historic buildings in Church Street.
