History
A reconstruction dated 1989 which uses a medieval socket stone and base of shaft and a cross-head probably reused from a churchyard memorial which is probably late C19 or early C20.
Exterior
Built of red sandstone rubble for the steps, the rest is dressed stone. Two square steps with flat paved tops, medieval broached socket stone. Base stone of shaft is square and tapering with broached chamfers. Cross head of wheel type.
Reason for designation
Included for the retention of sections of a medieval cross, and as having strong group value with the nearby Church of St. John the Baptist.
