Crane in former railway yard E of Conwy station
Location
To the S of the town wall and SW of the castle, on the N side of the railway and just W of Llanrwst Road.
History
In a former LNWR railway yard with goods shed, shown on the 1913 Ordnance Survey. Cast and built at LNWR Crewe Works (name on base).
Exterior
A manually operated cast-iron crane with a long timber arm and pulley. The structure rotates on the base and has a large spur gear.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special interest as one of a number of items contributing to the overall historical integrity of this section of the former Chester & Holyhead Railway.
