Fronting the road on the W side of the house.
History
Coed y Castell was built in the late 1930s by Clough Williams-Ellis, architect, for the Mostyn Estate. The gate piers and gates are contemporary and were designed as part of the setting of the house.
Exterior
Round rubble-stone gate piers with coping. Double wooden gates are swept up to the centre, and comprise panels below an upper tier of balusters.
Reason for designation
Listed as an ancillary structure designed to be an integral component of the setting of the house, by one of the foremost architects working in N Wales in the first half of the C20.
