History
Telephone kiosk of K6-type built to the standard design of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, architect, introduced by GPO in 1936. This example has the crown of George VI and was manufactured by the Lion Foundry, Kirkintilloch.
Exterior
Earlier to mid C20 cast-iron telephone call-box. Square plan with raised surrounds to sides and door. Marginal glazing bars to glazed horizontal panels on door and sides, blank rear. Moulded plinth. Shallow domed roof with four lunettes containing embossed George VI crowns above three illuminated lettered panels.
Reason for designation
Included as a piece of street furniture contributing to the Conservation Area.
