Situated in the centre of Pontrhydfendigaid, next to the Red Lion Hotel.
History
Road bridge over the Teifi, probably later C18, marked on the 1843 Tithe map. It is the first significant bridge over the Teifi. Said, without evidence, to have been built in the time of Edward Richard (1714-77), founder of the school at Ystrad Meurig in 1735. According to Meyrick the village was originally Pentre Rhydfendigaid.
Exterior
C18 or earlier. Stone with one span and pointed segmental arch. Plain parapet. "Humped" type.
Reason for designation
Included as a well-constructed masonry road bridge.
