The stone measures 1.1m high, above ground level, 1.4m long x 0.7m thick; and is heavily weathered. There is no visible inscription. It is thought to be an ancient boundary stone at the former junction of the parishes, Aberhafesp, Bettws and Tregynon. The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric ritual practices or medieval settlement. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits.
