The following provides a general description of the scheduled ancient monument.
The monument consists of the remains of a pack-horse bridge, dating to the post-medieval period. The bridge was built in the mid 18th century, and consists of a single segmental arch of finished ashlar with an inner ring of shaped projecting slabs.
The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of medieval or post-medieval construction techniques and transportation systems.
