Summary Description and Reason for Designation
The following provides a general description of the scheduled monument. The monument consists of a settlement of unknown date, but possibly later prehistoric or medieval. The monument consists of two sub-circular enclosures. The western enclosure is approximately 35m in diameter and defined by a tumbled wall approximately 2.0m wide and 0.3m high, with traces of possible buildings attached at the south-east. The eastern enclosure is approximately 48m in diameter and defined by a tumbled wall approximately 2.0m wide and 0.3m high, with possible buildings attached at the south and west. The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of settlement organisation. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits. The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
