The following provides a general description of the Scheduled Monument. The monument comprises a fine standing stone, probably dating to the Bronze Age (c.2300 BC - 800 BC). It is a large block of stone, standing about 1.55m in height and measuring 1.7m in thickness and 0.9m in width. The standing stone is situated at the edge of a field of enclosed improved pasture on the upper SE-facing slopes of Aberedw Hill. Two further boulders lie to the WNW and could have originally formed part of an alignment with the standing stone and the massive, unusual split boulder further to the WNW. These stones, if aligned, point directly to Rhulen Hill to the ESE, the highest prominent point on the horizon. The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric ritual practices. The monument retains significant archaeological potential with a strong probability of associated archaeological features and deposits and forms an important element in the wider prehistoric funerary and ritual landscape. The area scheduled comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive. It is circular and measures 12m in diameter.
