The following provides a general description of the Scheduled Ancient Monument. The monument comprises a particularly complete and well-preserved example of a compact single farmstead and enclosure, dating from the Iron Age or Romano-British period (c. 800 BC - AD 400). The monument comprises a roughly oval enclosure c. 48m by 38m, scarped into the hill slope, and includes a circular platform, probably for a large timber-built hut. On the north west side are the remains of perhaps another, stone-built, hut. The presence of two contrasting types of hut remains suggest some complexity of function or development. The settlement lies in enclosed pasture on the gentle west-facing slope beneath Moelfre Hill. The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of later prehistoric defensive organisation and settlement. The site forms an important element within the wider later prehistoric context and within the surrounding landscape. The site is well preserved and retains considerable archaeological potential. There is a strong probability of the presence of evidence relating to chronology, building techniques and functional detail. The interior appears to be undisturbed and the remains of any timber structures are likely to survive. The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
